Bathroom Safety Aids

Ensure a safer bathroom environment by installing grab bars and safety rails to make transitions easier.  A compact shower stool or seat that takes the pressure off from standing too long. Install a hand-held shower for ease of use while sitting. Where a bathtub is used, add a transfer bench to make getting in and out of the tub easier.  Implementing even one of these options could drastically reduce the chance of a bathroom related injure. No one likes to think about using a bedpan, let alone emptying one. However, the use and cleaning of bedpans is an everyday occurrence for some caregivers.
